Glen Emmets remain top of Division 3 after a comprehensive 11pt victory over Hunterstown Rovers in Hunterstown on Saturday evening.

The Emmets wasted no time in setting about their task of collecting 2 points as they raced into a 10pt to no score lead after 16 mins of this game. Emmets started the scoring with a pt from Eamon Mullen after a min which was quickly followed up by points from Mark Noone after 3 mins, Keith Rooney after 5 mins and Stephen Healy after 6 mins. Rooney added a further 2 points for The Emmets on 7 and 8 mins before Noone slotted over the bar after 11 mins. Eamon Mullen then put The Emmets 8pts up when he pointed on 12 mins before Danny Grimes extended The Emmets lead to 10 points with pts on 13 and 16 mins. Hunterstown then got their first score of the game with a pt from Tony Mc Kenna after 18 mins which was followed by a pt from Fergus Clerkin after 20 mins. Hunterstown scored the last 2 scores of the game when Brendan Mc Ardle pointed on 22 and 25 mins to leave the half-time score GLEN EMMETS 0-10pts HUNTERSTOWN ROVERS 0-04pts.

The second half started with Hunterstown pointing after a min but Eamon Mullen cancelled this out with a point for The Emmets after 33 mins. The two sides exchanged the next two scores The Emmets scores coming from the boot of sub Eamon Taaffe on 44 and 46 mins to maintain a 7 pt cushion. Hunterstown then scored 3 points in a row to reduce The Emmets lead to 4 points with 8 mins of the game remaining. The Emmets however were in no mood to let their lead slip any further and kicked on to score a further 1-04pts through a Mark Noone pt after 51 mins followed by points from David Bracken on 54 mins, Eamon Taaffe on 56 mins, Noone again on 57 mins and a goal from Eamon Mullen on 58 mins to leave the full-time score GLEN EMMETS 1-17pts HUNTERSTOWN ROVERS 0-09pts.
